Silap this year has been a participant at Fespa Day, the usual annual event organized by Fespa Italy which took place on September 29, 2016 at the NHOW Hotel in Milan. The central themes of the event were the evolution of 2D and 3D digital printing and the decoration of unusual materials such as sheet metal, glass and ceramics. The participants include mostly operators of the sector, such as screen printers, printers, decorators but also manufacturers of printing machines.

Among the technologies that present higher growth include inkjet printing and decoration of wood and sheet metal; precisely in relation to the last aspect, Silap was presented at this event as a Gold Member, to present to all participants the progress made about the decoration of sheet metal and various applications and flexibility offered by this technology: the reference markets range from the decorative paneling for rooms, fancy goods, advertising signs, up to reaching large scale public facilities just to name a few.

Besides the decoration, Silap presented its UV LED drying system, a product born in collaboration with Photo Electronics, an Italian company active in the electronics industry; the product, proposed as an alternative to classic UV lamps used for the drying of inks and paintings in industrial field, has considerable advantages both from a technical and economic point of view: reduction of energy consumption, reduced heat emission on the decorated support, no ozone emission, constant UV output during the lamp lifetime, no spare parts or maintenance required, guaranteed bulbs lifetime longer than 20,000 hours.

The Silap’s experience to Fespa Day event can be considered overall positive: the interest in the content presented has been very good, especially in the field of decoration, because the participants were able to touch some products exhibited in the space reserved to us inside the conference room. We believe that through our participation, the theme of the decoration of sheet metal and its strength were been understood and appreciated even by the representatives of very different sectors from our and also by those who had no knowledge of this technology.
